A piece with higher metal content would be metallic and a piece with higher ceramic content would be more grey, but in both cases they retain some of the specularity of metal. Certain citadel paints are a must have though. Myself I use a lot of vajello metalics then citadel drakenhof nightshade wash for my Grey Knights. I use a mixture of vallejo air metals, the steel and the blue, in a 2:1 ratio to give that blue color without having to deal with drakenhof. The citadel air version sucks.

Honestly though I'm not planning on going to any official tournaments so you bet I'm going to paint those infernus squad as grey knights. You do you brotha, if you wanna throw some force weapons on those terminators fuckin do it.
